BELLY OF THE WHALE by Linda Merlino

Belly of the Whale
Hudson Catalina has given up. Having lost both breasts to cancer, she is emotionally and physically exhausted, no longer willing to endure the nausea and crushing weakness that chemotherapy causes, until the wrecked-by-life young Buddy Baker arrives, bent on murder. A touching story of despair, abuse, murder and survival takes you on a journey through the darkest places of the human mind and spirit, and in the end leads you back out of “the belly of the whale” enriched by the experience.

I’m not really keen on the “cancer can mess you up” line, but otherwise this is an interesting trailer. 🙂

  6. If anyone is having troubles commenting…there is a gray box down here that when you click on it, it turns white so you can comment. The arrow disappears behind the gray box when you do this, but don’t let it freak you out, just click. Yeah, I freaked, too, lol.

  8. Persistence has paid off tonight…I am finally able to leave a response. Just wanted to thank those who stopped by on the first day of the tour. The title Belly of the Whale is symbolic . The journey into the fish’s belly is the decent into the darkness of life with its pain and loss. Life has its way with you, and to come out of the darkness is to survive.
